Why Music Publishing?

For songwriters and intellectual property holders, music publishing and royalty collection can be a crucial step in making the most of a career in music. The 2024 Lawrence Music Census found that only 24% of respondents were members of royalty collection or music licensing organizations, and 64% of respondents held no professional music industry memberships at all. In order to advocate for rights and economic support, it is critical that our music community participate in the global music infrastructure.

This quarterly meeting is a dedicated time to learn about music copyright, receive guidance on best practices, collect royalties, and participate in the mechanics of music licensing, a crucial component of the music industry.
